How many interns and students can over watch a doctor?

There is no simple answer, but usually medical students and residents work very closely and in small groups, which are led by an attending doctor. In the outpatient/clinic setting, the attending doctor may have 1-2 students at any time. In the inpatient/hospital setting, they usually work with a team that includes medical students, an intern, and a senior resident.
