ROBIN’s Answer

Creativity and visual organization appear to by your talents. I would suggest Interior Design or a Business Major. However, do not expect higher education to be all about arts and crafts. That should be pursued on your own to expand your skills. Perhaps with a Business major you could open your own arts and crafts studio or manage your own on-line business. Another possibility to pursue if you enjoy working with children is Early Childhood Education.

L’s Answer

Hi Jennifer,

I would also have to agree - I also liked to do arts and crafts (I still do). If I could, I also wanted to do it as a professional career, but I didn't know in what field to continue that passion in. I knew that simply pursuing a career as an artist/sculptor/painter/etc. required 'special' talent, and without it, I would honestly not make the living I wanted. As I continued my search for possibilities, that's when I came across the field of advertising and communications in college. While I took the advertising and communications specific courses, I realized how much room I had to be creative! You are given soo many opportunities to think outside of the box, and as an intern who has the opportunity to help with my company's communications projects, I was able to see that firsthand.

Personally, this where I landed and what I've decided to pursue as my future from the same question you had. But the possibilities are obviously limitless and we are all different. I hope how I decided my path helps you in deciding yours. Try to take as many classes related to your 'likes' and see where you land. You might find your answer there.

Kind Regards,

Lora Kim
