Hey Ankit,

Data Science is blooming industry worldwide and Australia is no different.  This field is currently exploding thanks to the rise of big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

I would recommend this article as a great starting point for your research: https://www.themartec.com/insidelook/data-science-in-australia

You would need to research if the data analytics jobs are on the high-skilled immigrants list of Australia. However, in order to have better chance I would recommend acquiring the following knowledge and expertise before applying to migrate to Australia:

  • Phyton - Python is currently one of the most commonly used programming languages. Having a solid understanding of how to use Python for data analytics will probably be required for many roles. Even if it’s not a required skill, knowing and understanding Python will give you an upper hand when showing future employers the value that you can bring to their companies.(here you can find some online courses: https://www.udemy.com/courses/search/?q=python%20for%20beginners&src=sac&kw=python%20for%20beginners )
  • SQL - Early in your career, you’ll need at least a basic understanding of SQL. SQL is often a major component of these positions.  Working with data sources is a necessary aspect of data analytics.
  • Data Visualisation Skills - Knowing how to visualise data and communicate results is a huge competitive edge for job seekers.

I hope you will have a great success in the data analytics world - please do reach out if you have any further questions. I would love to hear how it goes!

Best of luck,

Ana

Hi,

I would suggest you get some good experience on data analytics in global organization with in India, and then ask for moving to Australia, as I know lot of people are moving to Australia on same way. It's hard to get direct job in other country .

Dinesh recommends the following next steps:

  • Search Data Analytics job in India

The technology industry is booming in Australia. Large technology and software companies have offices in Sydney and Melbourne. Search career pages for companies that you are interested in and see what roles are open. When you apply for the job, ask if they are willing to sponsor a working visa for that specific role. You must have a sponsored visa in order to work in Australia if you are not an Australian Citizen.
