Hey Peyton!!! My son is studying kinesiology and wants to Become a professional athletic trainer. Texas Christain University (TCU) Baylor, University of Central Florida, Penn State and Ohio State all have phenomenal programs. Check them out.

As a former athlete I was very interested in athletic training as a high schooler trying to decide what I wanted to do. Although, I did not end up choosing to follow that path I still did a descent amount of research. Universities like Ohio State, Penn State, Texas, Baylor, Boston and Florida were very good programs that I looked into as a prospective student. I do want to add that picking good programs is great and all, but if you do not like the campus, campus life, other students, and area you will not have an enjoyable time. I would say picking somewhere that you truly like, feel valued, and truly feel apart of the campus culture is more important to a college experience.

I think when trying to decide on which school to apply for you need to look into what their clinical and curriculum look like. A school may have 5 star reviews and be one of the best in the nation but they may not be the best fit for you. I recommend going on campus tours that are specifically designed for those interested in the AT program being offered. If you can get first hand accounts from those currently in the program you will have a better sense of the community atmosphere and can decide if it feel like "home" for the next 4 years.
I completed my undergrad at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. They are one of the older schools for the profession and have a long list of very successful alumni. They (along with most schools in the US) recently transitioned to a Masters degree in AT. This means the format of the curriculum has changed but I will always recommend them to anyone wanting to join our profession!
