Douglas’s Answer

Hi,

The starting pay for a Mechanical Engineer with a 4 year Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering in the USA would be between $50,000 and $70,000 per year plus benefits (e.g. medical insurance, etc.). I have heard of people starting at higher than $70K, but that is unusual. There are some jobs that would require (and pay) for overtime work which would be in addition to the starting salary, but these jobs would be somewhat unique.

Hope this helps,

Doug
