How hard is working on your own having a rig already?

My name is Anahi, I am 18 years old with 4 (highschool) years of welding experience. I am currently working on getting my certificates. As a girl, I wonder if it is viewed differently by employers and if working on your own is really a good choice. #welding #career #certificates #oilfield

Hi, I've worked in energy training for a while now. The biggest challenge energy companies (think rig, pipeline companies) have is getting qualified people. So if you can do the work, they will be happy to meet with you if they have openings. The work is hard and co-workers can be rough around the edges. But it is illegal in the US to discriminate against applicants on the basis of gender. So be strong, show hard-working capabilities, and be positive. A company would love an employee like that

David recommends the following next steps:

Research interest groups for women working in energy or welding.

Hello Anahi, don' t be discouraged. You've probably already obtained your certificates by now and and landed a job. Just focus on your skills and I know that welding talent is very useful in commercial plumbing - pipe fitters -
Never let anyone discourage you from reaching for your dreams.
Best of luck!
