Bachirou’s Answer

For the associate of art you do not need to be expert in any field but to meet the requirement of you high school diploma. Your pathway will take to all the courses needed for your field and graduate with satisfaction.

Bachirou recommends the following next steps:

Gather information for an associate degree in music and animation and know the requirements.
Stop by your conselor or advisor office and discuss about a career in animation
Ask your music and art teacher questions about animation.

Shane’s Answer

You are already ahead of most people going into college having animation work that you have done personally. Most people(including myself) had very little to show in regards to personal work before college. I only knew that I wanted to work in video games. I wasn't sure I wanted to do animation until after college. I actually graduated with a modeler demo reel.

Knowing you want to animate and showing that you have the skills to do so is great. Don't compare yourself to others. Just keep at it and learn whatever knowledge you can from the people around you. Show people your work and take feedback in stride. Your skills will improve as you go along.

Shane recommends the following next steps:

Keep animating.
Show others your work, take their feedback and grow from it.
Find a school that offers the classes that will grow your skills.
