Training and education will put you ahead of someone that maybe doesn’t have that under their belt. If you are going go trade school to learn welding, try to graduate with a good GPA and if you can, ask for a recommendation letter from your instructors. Experience is also a big factor, but there are companies that will take you in without any if you prove that you put yourself through schooling. Networking and word of mouth is usually how you find the best jobs. Those are all things you can do to get ahead in this field.

Training and education are certainly key to get a good job... However, there are other factors to consider such as: experience/expertise, trust, networking, relationship, integrity, leadership, and confidence.
