I enjoy operating on a patient and providing an almost immediate fix to what was previously a life-threatening problem. There is great satisfaction that comes with taking a person from "cancer patient" to "survivor".

There are a lot of long hours studying in the library followed by long hours in the hospital, but it is a fulfilling career. There are so many opportunities after medical school... different specialties appeal to different individuals. Or you can follow a nonclinical route in research or even hospital administration.

Being a doctor is a rewarding career. After being a gynecologist for about 30 years, I still enjoy going to work. The years of sacrifice involved in schooling and training are definitely work the hard work. Healthcare is always in demand, so you would have job security.
