Robert’s Answer

The people who work at the Pentagon are either military members or Department of Defense civilian employees. There are also some contract employees who work for companies that provide services to the Department of Defense.

If you're in the military, you can work with your assignments personnel to get assigned to the pentagon. Otherwise, as a civilian you can seek a Government Service (GS) position with the Department of Defense on the USA jobs website provided here. https://www.usajobs.gov/Search/?k=pentagon

Hi Ulises!

There are 3 options to work at the Pentagon and they all vary in difficulty, pay, and job security.

1. Join the military
This option has the lowest liklihood of getting into the Pentagon as you don't really get to choose where you want to go. If you request it enough and work with your career planner you may be able to get stationed here after your first 4 years of service.

2. Work as a contractor
Many organizations hire part time help to assist with the different DoD projects happening all the time at the Pentagon. You can simply search job boards for these opportunities and while they do not typically last that long they are a great way to get your foot in the door for the last option.

3. DoD Civilian
The final option and probably the hardest to get started in is working as a DoD Civilian in the Pentagon. This can be done simply by going to the USAJOBS website and applying for positions that fit your needs. These are highly sought after positions though and they are very competitive.
