Hi Ja'qwon! I agree with the previous answer. Having good grades can open many doors with scholarships, financial opportunities and college as well! I think maintaining As and Bs are the best; sometimes you will have difficulty with courses but just keep studying hard and be disciplined. Many times it can be difficult to maintain the best grades possible but with structure and discipline it is doable! A GPA average above 3.5 is pretty good, at least for college, I don't remember too well for high school (it was a while ago) but mostly you want to aim for As and Bs. Reach out to your teachers if you are struggling and form study groups with close friends to help motivate each other to do well!

Best of luck!

Brian’s Answer

The most important thing is that you do your best.

You may not be a straight-A student, and that's totally okay. You may be better at social studies than you are at math, or better with science than you are with reading - and that's okay too. It isn't about comparing yourself to others, or even trying to be perfect. It's about doing the best you can. That means working with your teachers, doing all of your assignments, and asking for help when you need it.

I believe in you!

In general, you'll want to be getting Bs mixed in with As in the easy classes. You don't need the best GPA to get into a decent school. Of course, the better you can do with your grades, the better scholarships and schools you'll have access to later on, but there's only so much you can do to improve your odds. Don't stress yourself out trying to get perfect grades. As long as you get average grades and graduate, you'll do fine. Even just graduating is a good enough starting point on its own. Unless you go ivy league, most people's trajectories balance out with each other in the long run.
