How hard is it finding an internship in an industry right out of college?

I want to go into the fashion industry, and I know mentor ships and apprenticeships are important. #fashion #fashion-industry

It is easier to look for internship opportunities while you're in college since you don't have the stress of having to find a job to pay for yourself. However, if you can live without an income for a period, you can make some of those unpaid/underpaid opportunities work for you. Either way, you will probably need connections via networking to hear about and get referenced for those internships. Focus on meeting people in your field or who are pursuing the same opportunities as you. Maybe if one of your fellow students lands an internship, they will refer you as well or point you in the direction of other opportunities.

Indeed.com and LinkedIn usually share internship opportunities. Your school may also know of internship opportunities so I would recommend staying in touch with your college guidance office if possible or at least the alumni network. You can also try a quick google search to see if anything comes up in your area. Hope that helps, good luck!

There are typically 3 ways to get internships: Apply online - This is the easiest way, which means it’s also easy for many other applicants. Go to career fairs - The face-to-face experience of career fairs can make it easier to sell yourself to potential employers. Network - Talk to professors and friends about possible internship opportunities.
