"The American Board of Pediatrics indicates that education and training to become a pediatrician is a minimum of ten years. The pay off is more than a pediatrician salary. The most logical motivation to get into pediatrics is a desire to help sick kids. The satisfaction that comes with treating sick children and the joy of working with cute kids on a regular basis is one of the top reasons to become a pediatrician. As a pediatrician, you also have to appreciate the communication with parents and the involvement they usually have in child visits."
