Hi Nevaeh! Personally I haven't worked with animals but my friend from high school does! She works in a clinic for animals and she also went to Costa Rica to save stray dogs and bring them back so they could find good homes. She is definitely an animal lover and enjoys it so much! She has saved many animals and provided good homes for them in addition to being a great employee and helping the animals at the clinic she works at too. I think it's definitely important to not be scared of animals and to be use to them; my friend definitely had no fear especially when she had to pick up a stray dog on the side of the road in Costa Rica! She just got out of the car and scooped him up in to take back. Definitely try to get experience if you would like a future career with animals; if you have pets that is definitely helpful!

Hope this helps and best of luck!

If you have cable television, there are some excellent shows on vets. While these may glamorize to some degree, gives you a view into real-life situations. A few of my favs are:

* Dr Jeff who runs a veterinary clinic

* Zoo shows on Natgeo

* And for the really adventurous, Dr Pol who has both a veterinary clinic but also does alot of work with farm animals
