Jorge’s Answer

In every way possible, from how's it filmed to how it's distributed and how it's consumed. Filming is done mostly digitally, so software and hardware are running the cameras. Robotic arms are controlling the camera, with computer software running in them. Drone are used in filming aerial shots. Audio recording is all digital and mixing and editing are all done digitally, running on CPU-intensive software, sometimes running in highly distributed computer environment. After a film or TV show has finished production, they will need to be distributed to viewers, usually via one of the many streaming platform nowadays. These platforms are all written using specialized software (and sometimes hardware) and are running through highly specialized computer systems on the Internet.

Important companies in this revolution include Netflix, LucasFilm, Pixar, ILM, just to new a very few. I recently watched a documentary called "The Pixar Story" that really detailed the computerization of animated film, the technologies involved and the struggle they faced in the beginning.
