Hi,

Hope the below guidance will be helpful.

Set yourself up for success – at home

Set up an appropriate work space that is separate and distinct from your “home space” and conducive to working effectively without interruptions.

•Design your work space for efficiency, with all the documents and materials you need.
•Create a healthy workspace – good light, comfortable temperature, ergonomic adjustable chair, computer keyboard and mouse suited to your needs, telephone headset, etc.
•Set boundaries with your family members.
•Ensure your family members understand that although you are home, you’re working.
•Establish ground rules for work hours, interruptions, noise, etc.
•Do not use working from home as a substitute for child care.

Focus on performance and results

Be clear on your priorities, focusing on the expectations, tasks and responsibilities you and your manager agreed upon as measures of success.

Be proactive in communicating regularly with your manager, coworkers and customers to stay connected and resolve issues as they arise.

Ensure that your accomplishments, project status, outcomes and deliverables are visible to your manager and co-workers as appropriate – avoid being out of sight, out of mind.

Invite and encourage feedback from co-workers, manager and customers about how your virtual work arrangement is affecting them.

Be accessible, responsive and reliable

Utilize appropriate communication methods to stay connected with your manager, co-workers and customers.

Update your email, voicemail greeting, staff calendar etc. on a regular basis with your schedule, availability (or not) and contact information.

All the Best..!!

Alexandra’s Answer

Hi Shaik! Having a successful work from home experience does not need to have a large budget. There are a few different aspects that I will highlight below:

Basics:
-One thing you will for sure need is internet. There are few options to help out with this such as government funded programs like Lifeline or the Affordable Connectivity Program that you could look into.
-A workspace (desk, notebook, calendar, etc. )

Skills:
-Organizational skills - write down your tasks, keep separate folders for different areas of work, set reminders
-Discipline- working from home can come with a lot of distraction so it is important to stay focused. You can make yourself a schedule of when you will take breaks, lunch, and what tasks you will get done when
-Communication - it is important from the start to develop thorough communication skills as we are all a bit more isolated at home than if we were surrounded by co workers in an office.

Wellness:
-Working full-time in the same space that you live can be challenging. It can be easy to forget to take breaks from the computer and work until 10pm. Don't exhaust yourself, taking breaks is very important. Try to keep your workspace in a separate nook or room if you can, this will help separate work from the rest of where you live. Be sure to put you and your family first and take time for yourself.

Hope this helps! Best of luck to you.

Hi,
You have some good answers above, I will give you some different advice on how to find work from home jobs...there are websites, some do charge a monthly fee, where you can research and apply for remote jobs like VirtualVocations.com and Flexjobs.com There are also ways to find remote jobs on free websites like indeed.com, you can search by typing in "Homebased" or "Remote" in the location. There are other websites like "skipthedrive.com" and "weworkremotely.com".

I hope this helps a little, please feel free to email me if you need any other advice or information.
Good luck!

Some guidance that I have from my work from home experience:
1. Have a dedicated work space
2. Don't be afraid to block your calendar for family time/your own time that you need away from work
3. Take short breaks to stay concentrated
4. Avoid distraction by listening to music making sure the tv is off
5. Be upfront with your team and leader about how they can help to make your experience better

Abgour’s Answer

Shaik, you should set a specific work place, it doesn't need to be something fancy, designate a specific place from a home office where you can store all your work related files. You have to avoid distraction and ask your family to be supportive too. last but not least, you have to plan your day !
Good luck !
