Hi Hamid:

You can check with the local churches where they have the soup kitchen. Volunteering in soup kitchen is fun and very satisfying. Lots of volunteer come and they cook and other volunteers help with cooking, serving the meals and cleaning. I volunteer once a month in soup kitchen and I love it. Also you can check with your local senior center where they always have some events and that is also fun. you can check with your hospital volunteer services where they have the opportunities for book distribution for patients, read a book to the patient, delivering refreshments, talking to patients families, and sometimes light office work i.e., making photocopy etc. If you have Boys and girls club in your area you can check with them. Here are some sites to check.:

Good luck and have fun.

Kristen’s Answer

I agree with all of these great answers, and also want to suggest virtual volunteerism! It's a great way to get involved from anywhere you are and also maximizes your time commitment since there is no travel involved.

Kristen recommends the following next steps:

Search opportunities via: https://www.volunteermatch.org/search/virtual
If you have a specific interest, search for virtual volunteerism that way. For example if you want to become a teacher, you can tutor students online at tutormate.org
