Is it safe to apply to to ivy league schools?

I have hope that I will get accepted to an ivy league school. However, I know that the chances of that happening are pretty low. I am also planning on apply to a few schools that I deem as safe to me since I am positive I will get into those. It's just that I want to throw my application out there in the sea and hope to get reeled in by one of those ivy league schools. Therefore, am I just kidding myself by actually doing that? #college #advice #ivy-league

Absolutely. Review the criteria and requirements for acceptance. If you are meeting the requirements definitely apply. There are a lot of you tube videos out there also on IVY league schools and the application process. Some great tips from students who have gone through the process.

Hi Gloria,

I would recommend applying to a combination of safety schools, best fit schools and reach schools. Ivy league schools are a stretch for anyone because of the volume of applicants they receive. As long as you make sure to keep your options open and apply to a variety of schools then I do recommend applying to some stretch schools, you never know unless you try!

Here is a link to an article about the different types of schools and some suggestions on how to choose the right ones for you to apply to: http://www.princetonreview.com/college-advice/dream-match-safety-schools

Thanks,
Carol

There is nothing wrong in trying and don't sell yourself short. By applying to safe net schools you are doing it right.
