If you don't like "thinking hard" then you probably won't like Astronomy. Astronomy is not simple either.

Astronomy isn't necessarily about thinking hard or not.
I find my love for Astronomy came when my son had so many questions about space.
I've learned an a great deal since then, becoming overly fascinated by all things planets, cosmology and astronomy as a whole.

I think the idea of starting with a telescope is great.. then maybe watch some documentaries related to planets and solar systems, galaxies, then the universe.

If you're fascinated enough, then I think it would be awesome to pursue an education and career in Astronomy... then you wouldn't even bother if 'hard thinking' would be required at some point of your pursuit.

I agree with Leo's answer, but there is this: if you enjoy something and do it a lot then you will eventually get good at it. And not all of astronomy requires deep thinking. Some of it requires tedious poring over facts and doing fairly straigthforward data gathering.

Almost all careers in astronomy require studying a lot of physics and mathematics, usually to degree level and beyond. To most people, that involves "thinking hard".

However, amateur astronomy as a hobby is something that's fairly easy to get into and doesn't necessarily need a lot of hard thinking. Find a clear night, pick up a pair of binoculars and a star chart and see what you can see - that's fairly simple, but there's not really any jobs in the amateur stargazing side of things, with the exception of a few rare openings in planetariums and public observatories.
