The first thing you should do is to talk to doctors that are surgeons and see if you can get the opportunity to shadow them to see if it is really the job you think it is the job is very difficult and not like what you see on tv. The job can be very rewarding

That's a great field. First you'll need to enroll in college to obtain an undergraduate degree in Pre-Med. Once you finish that you'll need to study and take MCAT exam to get in Medical school. Good luck to you.
