If you have several different interests and can't decide which one to choose, then try looking at Liberal Studies, Interdisciplinary, or General Studies majors. Especially with the General Studies, some of them will let you take pretty much any courses you want in all different departments.

That is always a very tough question to answer when someone asks, but for me, it's finding a career in an area that you love. Some people will say find something your good at because you spend so much of your life at work. That's a perfectly fine answer. However, for me, it's finding something that you really like to do or you are really interested in, because if you like/love your work, you will become very good at it. Sit down and give it some thought and just start listing the things that really interest you and once you've done that, then go thru that list and try and think of careers where some of those things come into play.

Great question. As you contemplate going to college, for many this is a tough question. I agree and support all of the responses from the others. A few additional considerations; 1) even if you successfully selected a career, when it is a job, not all days will be rosy and sunny, there will be challenging days that make you question your career choice. However, just know that it comes with no matter what choice you make. 2) As you decide, while pursuing something you like and are passionate of is important, it equally important to understand the earnings potential of your choice as well. While money alone can’t solve all issues, when life challenges you with hard situation, financial stability will helps.

Hi Ariel,
That's a great question! Deciding on a career path can be very tough for anyone to do, and there are millions of people who are in their 20's, 30's, 40's, and beyond who still don't necessarily know what they want to do. My advice is to set aside some time to write down what you're passionate about. Writing things out can feel great and can also help you really get down to the bottom of what it is that you're passionate about. At the end of the day, even though it may seem apparent, doing something that you love every day almost feels like one of the key secrets to living a great life. Because of that, I would urge you to take a look at what you wrote down when writing about your passions, and see what career paths would be most relevant based on your passions/interests. I don't think that most people actually set aside ample time to focus on what it is that they truly want to do with their life/career, so if you set aside the time - whether it's 10 minutes a day, 30 minutes per weekend, etc. - you will be ahead of the curve and will have a leg up on others who are your age when it comes to one of the most important things you will decide on in your life - your career.
Once you've settled on a few potential career paths, I would suggest talking to others about them - parents, teachers, etc. See if anyone can help you get in touch with professionals in those industries so they can help give you advice which will hopefully give you a better idea of which career path would be best for you. I think this is something that more often than not, people wonder if they are choosing the right career path or if they are headed in the right direction. In choosing a career path, I did not necessarily found 1 thing I loved, rather I found something I enjoyed and I was good at. For me, I enjoy helping people and I am good at talking to people. It was an easy choose in taking a step towards a career path in Human Resources. I find that being good at something will often times help you to become more confident and happy in the career you are in. On the other hand, I think finding your career path can happen upon chance. For example, I wanted to be a doctor growing up. I love helping people, talking to people and I was curious about the human body, that is until I almost failed my first Anatomy class. From there I stumbled upon HR when I started working in a restaurant and really fell in love with that side of business operations. Again, I ultimately think that finding something you enjoy and do well in will put you on the right path for your career choice.

Firstly, you can start from you have interest on, e.g. our hobbies, what subjects we like, etc. You can start from there and identify what career are related to the interest/hobbies.
You can then further explore these careers what we really want to do. You may need to do more research how these careers work in real life and whether you really want to do it in the future.
You can decide which career you would like to pursue and determine which subjects in college are relevant to this career. You can then take the relevant major in the college.
