Glenn’s Answer

Aku, to become a mechanical engineer, you need to have a passion around math and physics. It also helps to have a curiosity about the physical products around you. This can be anything from cars, to bikes, or cellphones.

In the US, engineering is a very competitive program, and it takes good grades in school, the right classes, and good scores on the SAT. For the right classes, take the highest level of math physics that you can. Once you are in school, it takes a lot of hard work to do well.

Glenn recommends the following next steps:

Take the highest level of math available. Trig, calculus. AP Calculus.
Take the highest level of physics available. AP Physics
Prepare for entrance exams
Take any courses and participate in clubs related to Engineering. Robotics, technical drawing, technical writing.
