Hi Justin - One of the things that helped me out when trying to decide what career to take was doing volunteer work for local charities or family members to gain experience. Depending on what type of Marketing you'd like to do, see if there's someone close by that needs help Marketing an event or even something personal. Ask about budget, wants, location, what medium to chose, etc. If you're willing to do it for free, you'd love doing it as a career. Good luck!

I would suggest first finding a customer base, figure out what they want and figure out how to develop that product. After that focus on those customers satisfaction. Promote yourself through social media, talking to as many people as possible, having others post about what you are offering. For example in the past I would promote myself as a dj and events at clubs in DC. We would have a group of social media influencer post 2 weeks prior to the event once, two times a week before, once on Monday, and on the day of the event post as much as possible. Keep a log of everyone you have posting. As for other marketing forms, its all in how you present your brand and to whom you present.

Hi! Thanks for your question. I am not studying marketing in college but do have friends who have and I also have some interest in it myself. I would say a great way to start would be taking free online courses and getting certificates. A great resource is google certificates and they have a couple for marketing so check it out. Hope this helps!
