Adding to the answers already here - large hospitality companies also typically have headquarters-based associates in fields such as finance, legal, learning/talent development, IT/software, business analytics & reporting, sales, revenue management, brand planning, openings teams, and more. When thinking of hospitality careers, think beyond individual properties/restaurants and into the larger companies that support those individual locations!

Some careers to consider would be hospitality owner, operator or manager and that could range from very large resorts to boutique hotels or B&B's. You may also consider becoming a travel agent which you can provide this service to major companies or to the general population. Another career would be the tour industry. You can also consider the auxiliary services that compliment these industries such as restaurants, casinos, lounges, cafes, transportation/shuttle services. Narrowing this down depends on your personality and what you enjoy doing and how you would like to be of service to the public in a manner that is fulfilling and rewarding!

Hi Kiondria,
Let's look at hospitality in different segment with some basic positions:
1. Restaurant: Owner, executive chef, sous chef, pastry chef, server, purchaser, accountant, and etc.
2. Food service (cafeteria): Owner, executive chef, Sous chef, pastry chef, server, banquet chef, banquet manager, purchaser, accountant, and etc.
3. Hotel: Owner, executive chef, sous chef, pastry chef, banquet chef, banquet manager, events planner, server, purchaser, accountant, front of the house (front desk), back of the house (housekeeping), general manager, and etc.
4. Food manufacturing: Owner, product development chef, food scientist, manager, operation manager, business development manager, sales, purchaser, accountant, distribution manager, logistic, and etc.
5. Entertainment (TV): food stylist, purchaser, planned, and etc.
These are some hospitality establishment that I can think of with some positions that I know. Do you like any of these? Look up some of the position in job posting to understand their job scope and responsibility.
