What school or major do I choose???

I want to pursue a career in sports events: I’m very interested in the creative event planning and decorating, and partnership side of sports, like sponsorship activations, fan experiences, VIP events, and brand collaborations with teams or leagues. But I'm not sure what major or college would be the perfect fit for me. I've heard most people who major in sports don't end up landing a sports job, so it definitely worries me, but I'm also worried that if I don't major in sports, I won't know as much as others. I specifically want to go down south for college, as a NJ resident, I'm tired of this area and the weather.

What is the most important thing to do freshman year of college? Should I focus more on academics and do everything to have a 4.0 GPA, or be more leaned back and put more effort into meeting new people? #Spring26

I am a senior in high school and doing well in school comes pretty easy to me. I normally don't study for tests too long, but still get A's and high B's. I am committed to Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi through the PSA program and majoring in Hospitality Management on the Event Planning track.

What should I and prepare for when working in a Hospitality related career?

I took the myfutureaz.pipelineaz.com career assessment, and my results said I could work best in a work field that involves Hospitality. Im interested in working in this field since I enjoy talking with people about anything and am sympathetic and good at listening. Im also someone who doesn’t get offended or bothered easily by questions others find weird. Since I am heavily considering going into this career field, what are some things I should expect or prepare for when working in a Hospitality related career?

Domestic Violence and Homelessness "gaps" OR organization ideas in Florida (and later global)?

Hello, my name is Sanvhi and I am currently a student, more specifically a freshman in high school! As I have began looking towards my future and career, I realized that both architecture and business (hospitality) were ones I have always been interested in. I have been an active role in my schools SGA so far, and also have taken an architectural engineering class at my school which taught me the basics of a lot. Aside from this, I have always been an advocate for the arts like Theatre as well as marketing, as I combined the two and now co founded a YouTube series to market the arts at my school!! I have a lot of interests, but one that I have always wanted to do is start a project/nonprofit/initiative for domestic violence and homelessness. I am located in Florida, and not sure what to do to help. Eventually, if I can, I was to bring this to more locations than Florida. In the past I have had ideas about having a home security device that would be built into walls, some sort of new architectural material for building houses for those in need, and just fundraising. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!

Nonprofit/Organization, Awards, Challenges?

Hello! I am currently a freshman in high school, and my interest lay mainly in architecture and business (specifically hospitality), as I want to create my own hotel brand. In addition to this, I have always wanted to create a nonprofit, or other assisting organization that could assist domestic violence survivors, those currently in those situations, as well as homelessness. Additionally I wish to work on a couple other projects regarding my 2 interests and participate in awards/ challenges for them as well. Does anyone have any recommendations for these? Also, is it okay to work on the nonprofit/project for domestic violence and homelessness? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for that nonprofit/project?

Florida Orlando local hotel internship/project opportunities/What are the best colleges for BOTH architecture and hospitality business?

Hi! I am currently a freshman in high school and am interested in architecture and business, specifically hospitality. I have always enjoyed both 3-D design and also hotels, and have dreamed of working and creating my own hotel chain one day. I was wondering if there are any current hotel brands that offer internships in Florida, or any local businesses around Orlando that would be open to working on a project/event, or internship opportunity or have with past high schoolers? Also, what would be the top colleges to go to for both architecture and hospitality business? I have seen a couple like Cornell, Rice University, and University of Nevada but and am not sure yet. Is Princeton or University of Florida good for both?

How do I avoid becoming a college dropout or feeling "stuck" with my degree?

I don't want to get a degree and then feel like what I want or even something that would even be enjoyable is out of my reach. I also don't want to feel like I'd be better off leaving my education and just joining the workforce without a degree. How can I stop this? I like what I want to get a degree in but is that enough? What steps can I take to prevent that 'burn out' feeling?
