Hello Kevin,

I am not from Cape Town, however you may start searching for an internships through online. For example, try to search some companies or organization that you may think will have slots for internship in your field. Also, you may ask your school or university for assistance, usually the schools or universities have linkages or like partnership to company or establishment where you can do your internships, it will be more easier if for example you have a chosen company already and try to ask politely your school if they can give you a recommendation letter where you can submit it as well to your chosen company when you send your résumé or your CV.
