Typically to become an anesthesiologist you need to complete four years of undergraduate, four years of medical school and a four-year anesthesiology residency program. Some also choose a 1-2 years in a post-residency fellowship.
There are also nurse anesthesiology programs. After getting a registered nurse license, work in an acute care setting then applying to a CRNA program which is I believe 2-3 years.
