What is the best way to earn a scholarship?
I am in 10th grade and in honors classes. I am starting to think about getting scholarships. I want to know the best ways to get colleges to want to give me scholarships.

You are smart to be thinking of funding for college now, when there's time to research and see what's available, rather than waiting to seek these avenues out. College can be very expensive and finding ways to fund takes effort but offsets taking out loans.
Overall, you can look for scholarships, grants, and even part time work/work study to supplement paying for expenses.

Scholarships and grants are a great way to get money for college. There are scholarships and grants specifically for women, for specific majors and even hobbies. I'm adding some links to try. Review all and apply for any that you think would help you.

You are on the right path. Keep doing well in academics. This will get you into good schools. Since most scholarships are need-based your scholarship chances are also dependent on your family's financial situation.

Great question Gabbie! A lot of scholarship programs look at volunteer time and hours (even internships as well). I would recommend volunteering on weekends at your local animal shelter, non profit, etc (anything that you are interested in) to show the scholarship committee that along with great grades, you have experience in the outside world.

In order to earn a scholarship it is important to show a well-rounded background. Merit scholarships are granted, not only for academic excellence but also community service, athleticism, and other skills such as honor society tutoring.
For those with financial needs, academic and work experience show the grantors that you are competent and determined.
Presenting your story in the essay is a huge part of the process. Have your English teacher review and make recommendations before you present this.
