Houses today are constructed using the stick-build method. This is where the frame and structure is constructed on-site using OSB panels and dimensional lumber (the "sticks"). Homes have not been constructed of brick for a long time because wood is faster, cheaper, easier, and more earthquake-resistant than brick. It's not that brick is no longer used at all, but it's now used only decoratively and in upscale luxury homes.
