Being in game development is as different from being a gamer (pro or not) as it is to be an actor vs. watching a movie. It's a craft with many beautiful disciplines, of which some will fit you perfectly, and some won't fit you at all. There are ample overviews available of roles that exist in our industry. Review which roles exist, and you'll likely find some will align with the selection of topics you're most interested in both in and outside of school.
