This is such a great question. Many of us overlook the importance of setting aside time for rest. One way I did this through college was sticking to a schedule. I set aside one full day where I did not work or do homework. This took prior planning and making sure I didn't procrastinate. I also chose to work at the school I attended so my schedule was flexible enough to complete my assignments during the week. Of course, there were weeks where I felt I was not successful in giving myself the rest I needed, but for the most part, it was a solid plan.

Balancing the things you desire to do in your personal life while you are in school can be tricky, especially if you also work. While it is important to find time for rest, play, and work/responsibility, you'll have to remember that there is a level of sacrifice that comes with attending school. Here are some questions and actions you'll want to ponder on to decide what's best for you:

1. How much free time do you currently have for rest/personal life activities?
2. What can you do less of that would increase this time for you (i.e. social media, TV, video games, etc.)
3. Are you willing to replace the things mentioned above (question 2) with "rest and relaxation?"
4. Create a weekly calendar and schedule time for rest and personal activities.

I hope this is helpful to you. Good luck in your endeavors!
