Why should I focus on not giving up and choosing a mew career path?
I wanna be a vet-tech but people say its hard and its really easy for me to want to quit.

If people telling you a job is hard makes you change your career choice you need to ask yourself if you are devoted to that choice. Why did you choose that as a probable career to begin with? Did you check out what the job entails? Does that type of work resonate strongly with you? If you're devoted to that as a career don't give up on it and yourself!

It is a wonderful field of work to pursue a Veterinary Technician profession and I hope I can help with the issue you've expressed. For starters, people's opinions are based on their own experiences or assumptions. It's best to get opinions about this field from a lot of people who are already working at it and the people who have tried for it and quit. There are always two sides to the story. Another thing is it that are they saying the courses are hard or the length of time studying is hard ? Or are they saying the job is hard ? Again, this is their opinion and may not prove to be true for you, but you have to think about it. Discouragement comes all too easy, but being realistic and positive can help you make a beneficial decision. It is something that you are showing an interest in and support and encouragement for you would help.
To be a Veterinary Technician, you basically need a two year Associates Degree. Bachelors degrees are also offered at some colleges, too. Than you go for your credential by passing an exam and you'll be registered. All of this depends on the State you live or study in. New York State requires licensure, too. Some Veterinary Technician schools in New York are Medaille College in Rochester, NY, Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY (in Westchester County) and the State University of New York, Canton (SUNY Canton) in Canton, NY.
To recover from any discouragement that others may send your way, envision yourself in this job and take each goal toward it as a positive step forward. Think of how beneficial your role will be in being part of a team that helps animals and how needed your part really is. Anytime people have a difficulty with course work, there is usually help on campus that you can think about and ask about during orientations. Once you start school, you will meet so many people and it's possible to join or start a study group, so there's always someone out there that can assist you.
