ben’s Answer

Hello Hannah,
My name is Benjamin. I didn’t really look to see how old you are. I probably did, but I didn’t I recognize it.
I don’t make a whole lot of money. But the money that I make provides me with a life that affords me choices. I'll share some of the thoughts that your question made me think of.

As with anything that we do each and every day. I had a good friend tell me last year he was 32 and I was 52. And I was open minded enough to listen to him.

We’re in the middle of our workday. Many many years ago, i made a decision. It was a decision that stems really from growing up in the family that I grew up in. Money does not grow on trees. Is what my mom used to say all the time. Anything that you really want in life you get to go out and earn. And he who pays rules. Don’t get caught up on the he or she.

My friend said life is about making good decisions.

Best decision you’ll ever make in my opinion and it’s only my opinion. Is to ask a lot of questions. Asking questions does not mean you don’t have an answer. It means you wanna involve other people. And then through involving other people you’re having weed you’re actually showing a lot of strength and courage. Because you’re kind of saying I don’t know, does anybody else have an idea?

So that man who had so much to say said in the above section.

Choose something that fills you with passion. I personally think some of the best work is working for and with and of other people.

Service. In a lot of ways. It’s kind of why we’re here on earth. Each and every year school teachers doctors, nurses, police man, firefighters military people. They’re almost like the best examples. They go out the door every day. And often risking life and limb. But they’re out there fighting a fight. To serve you and me Hana so that we can walk into a world filled with opportunities and choices. You can chase all the money in the world. Do you like books, Hannah?

I just picked up a book. The essential Marcus Arelious. It’s all of about 110 pages. Short by many estimations. Maby pick up this book. Go to the library.

It’s kind of about making good decisions.

Passion

I’ll give you a challenge and then I’ll let you go.

This is a voting year. This year I had a lot of people go out of their way for me. Some of them are the ideal people younger women, women in their 30s as I said I’m an old man I’m in my 50s.

They have been leading our country for many many years. Behind the scenes. Women much like you when they were younger.

I thought about One, as I said this is a voting year. I’m trying to learn how to
Vote Hanna?
And I thought about this young woman who changed my mind this year about an issue that I was concerned about with regards to national politics.

I thought when was it that you first got that desire that, that urge to change peoples lives.

As I said, I didn’t recognize how old you were?
But I imagined it. Standing there and about 15 years old. Alone in your room. And I take that for granted, you may not be in a room where you can be alone. But if you think about it real hard, there’s hopefully 15 minutes you can get.

Clear your mind of everything.

Look deep in the mirror, not at yourself, but deep into the mirror. If you could change the world Hana? Yes you yourself? If you could reach out to the world. First of all would it be money? Is it money? Is that the thing that you think could change it all! give me the right to be wrong? Maybe it is.

If you were standing in front of the whole world. There alone in your room. If you could be like a teacher. How do you think they feel every new school year? How beautiful people are. Each year they start off with so much hope And they get so much. But the truth is Hannah they get to change two or three lives a year. When they look back after 20 years. They’re not rich. A lot of them barely can pay their bills. But after 20 years, Hanna they change the world. One soul at a time. One or two people a year three or four if they get lucky.

Hana choose something that makes you laugh.

Because as my friend and I were in the middle of our day, and he turns me, and he says Ben life is about making good decisions. I’ll probably carry that with me for the rest of my life Hanna

And you know what I sat there and laughed for about three minutes.

I don’t make a lot of money. But it does provide me with the little bit that I have the little bit that I need.

And at the end of the day, when you raise your hand, include people be sure to include your parents if you can. I only say that because well not everything is perfect every day. A man looking back my parents are about as perfect as they can be in my own eyes sometimes. And I hope that for you as well. ask a lot of questions courage favors the brave.

Somewhere in there there will be an answer.

One last challenge and I’ll let you go. Read books, write write about your thoughts feelings and emotions.

Never be bored. Life is so precious.

We are so lucky to be here.

Don’t let money be why you’re here.

But hey, if I could be a neurologist. $601,000 a year
I would take that.

One last thing from my mother. And I wish the same for you Hanna I hope your mother and your father, are first and last in your thoughts every day that or God or Jesus.

Better watch what you ask for?

Neurologist, the really good ones. They open up peoples scalps and they play with their brains.

I would have to think about that one Hannah.
But you played with my brain today.

At least I hope this makes you smile. Probably more confused now then when we started?

Life is precious. We’re really lucky to be here. Good music dogs I love dogs. Family friends laughter. Well that to me is where hope begins

Pursue changing the world though being of service to as many people as you can each and every day. And I I’m even gonna say I promise on this one. You’ll lay your head down Hannah and it will be worth it. I hope that there will be laughter.
