Hi Annalisa, I would recommend looking into a community college for your basics. Many four year universities partner with smaller and more affordable schools which allow your credits to transfer easily. This is a common solution to lowering the cost of college.

Hi there, firstly you would want to see how desperate your need to earn money while you are in college. if you are not real desperate, you could do part time jobs like tutoring according to your major and specialty. Or having a chance to do part time job or freelancing on the area that could enrich your resume. As you could build some wealth of your own. you could try to invest on stocks, options, funds or commdity that could match up with your risk level. Or think about what type of shops or business that you could set up with your interests. if you are interest in makeup, you could do You-tubing helping or teaching people on that area. Possibly grow into a future career with accumulated followers which it could ultimately turn into a career of your own.
About lower your cost of college by applying scholarship, there are way too many organisation that could apply for scholarship. You could look into student council at your local school for related ways to apply
