Juggling school and work can be a real challenge, but I've got some tips that might make it a bit easier.
First things first, let's talk schedules. It's super helpful to carve out specific times for school things and work things. That way, you are not trying to do everything at once.
Next up, prioritize. Figure out what absolutely needs to get done for school and work and tackle those tasks first. Once the big stuff is out of the way, you will feel way less stressed about the smaller stuff.
Communication is key. Talk to your boss and your teachers about your schedule. Most people are cool about being flexible if you are honest with them and share about what'\ is going on.
For time management tricks. Ever heard of the Pomodoro Technique? It's a game-changer. Breaking up your study and work sessions with short breaks helps you stay focused. Also, try to find a quiet spot to get stuff done.
Don't forget to take care of yourself. Seriously, it's important. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and taking breaks to chill out and recharge.
Finally, do not be shy about asking for help. Your friends, family, and mentors are there for you, so lean on them when you need to. They can give you advice, pep talks, or even just a shoulder to lean on.
You've got this!

Nerissa’s Answer

Hello Gabe!

I understand that achieving a balance can be a challenging task. However, I've discovered that mapping out your week on your day off can be incredibly beneficial. Sketch out each day, noting down your work hours and the time you intend to dedicate to your studies. You might even want to note down your sleeping and waking hours.

Upon implementing this strategy, I noticed a significant improvement in managing my work-life balance. Yes, there are times when things don't go as planned, but I always find myself returning to my weekly schedule. I also utilize my calendar to stay on top of appointments or personal events. I genuinely hope this advice proves useful to you!

Best regards,
Nerissa

Maintaining equilibrium might seem challenging when you're juggling tasks all day, but creating clear boundaries and completing one activity before starting another can be a real game-changer. This approach enables you to concentrate on school tasks without feeling swamped by additional work. Remember, tackle one task at a time. It's not just a strategy, it's a path to success!

Hi Gabe! This is a great question! Time is a finite resource and we all probably wished we had more of it at some point.

What I'd recommend is to plan your days in a calendar, but don't just block out time when you are in class or at work. If you have any school work to do, schedule that on your calendar too. This will allow you to have a more realistic view of the time you need to dedicate to school.

You can also breakdown a big task into smaller to-dos for yourself. Let's say you need to write an essay for school and you know it will take you several hours to complete, but your schedule for the week looks pretty busy. In this case, you can chunk down your big task into smaller activities, like today I have 15 minutes to think through the essay structure, tomorrow I can work on the opening paragraph. By doing so, you can fit those bigger assignments into your life and make progress towards them every day.

It's also important to remember to have the time that's not all school or work. Make sure you also have some time for yourself to hang out with family or friends, so you can take a break from other activities and relax.
