How do you decide what path to go in in the medical field

Hi Kennedy! Just a couple of ideas to help you decide:

• do a self-study and ask yourself questions like:

What attracted you to the medical field in the first place? What areas of medicine do you find the most interesting, curious, exciting? What medical routines would you be willing to practice, like, every day, for many years to come? If you are watching a TV show/movie about doctors/nurses/ER, what aspects/scenes of their job do you feel most related to? etc.

• try out different paths through volunteering and/or internships and then stick to the one you liked the most. For example, you won’t need a nursing certificate to become a part-time volunteer in a hospital where you can learn and see real-life medicine routines. And of course, speak to the nurses and doctors to get some insight into their professional fields.
