Most veterinary schools are affiliated with a state or group of states and the percentage of students in the incoming class is heavily weighted toward those commitments. If that's the case for your home, your chances of admission to that school are much greater than your chances at any other. Pick a pre-vet college that offers all of the prerequisites for admission to vet school. It goes without saying that you have to get great grades. Are your chances better if you get B's at a very top of the food chain college than they are with A's from a slightly lesser one? I don't know but think you will be safe at either as long as the requrements are met. Take a look at costs, too. Veterinary medicine is an immensely fulfilling career, but not particularly well paid. If you finish vet school with a huge debt burden, your job and life style options will be limited. A great way to cut costs, get a good undergrad education and get into vet school is to pick your state's affiliated school and get stellar grades. If you are a foreign national or want to attend a vet school not affiliated with your state of residency it will be harder for you, but not impossible. Great grades, life experience and recommendations as well as a well recognized undergrad college will make the difference for you. Good luck
