What are some of the jobs that students have gotten with a Construction Management AA degree?

This is the career I am pursuing. It would be nice to hear what some people have accomplished with this degree, It has many destinations.

Dan’s Answer

Victoria,

The Construction industry has expanded in my opinion. I started as a Carpenter thinking I will end up managing multiple Residential projects. After getting my degree I worked with a flooring company managing some big projects. Now I have been working as a Construction manager in the Wireless Telecom industry. The opportunities as a Construction Manager with a degree seem to wide open.

As I went to a Flooring company some of my fellow class mates worked as assistant construction managers and assistant Project managers even.

I hope this helps

Thanks

Dan

Carla’s Answer

Victoria, I worked as a project manager of the retail design and construction team for Verizon Wireless for ten years and absolutely loved it. I started as an analyst in the department and worked my way up gaining knowledge on the way. I think you should continue your education in construction as well as in project management. Project management is huge in this field, as you have to manage multiple vendors doing various things at very different stages. It is a very rewarding job to watch buildings and stores be built from nothing and working with a team to make it happen. Good luck!
