Yes you can definitely get involved.
But if you want to be successful and not burn out - you need to find out what really interests you more and take that job.

You definitely can. You just have to be very committed and have great time management skills. Depending on what your working hours are and what you want to get involved with after working hours, you will have to work around your working hours. I suggest getting a planner, and working on planning your days to see what your schedule is like. Any free time, you have you could focus on getting involved in other work.
