Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question. Firstly, you have to find out what careers you have interest.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Think about what you have interest, e.g. your hobbies, favorite subjects, etc. and identify the related careers
E.g. If you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc.
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career, counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Peter’s Answer

That is one question that most of us fail to answer correctly when we are at that particular crossroad in our life.

What I personally have come to realise over the past years as a paediatric surgeon is this: choose a career that allows you to serve the largest number of people and learn to fall in love with it. Numbers matter because the more people you serve, the greater the satisfaction you get. Financially, it also puts you at a better place.

Most of the times people will advise you to go for what you love, but if what you love does not address the problems that a lot of people face you will soon find out that you wasted your time and there isn't much to gain out of it. As human beings we can caltivate love for anything as long as we have come to appreciate the importance of it.

Lastly, when you have decided on what you think is the right career path, then give it all your best. The better you become at doing something, the more marketable you become and the greater the satisfaction you get from the impact you make.

Romir’s Answer

Hello Mustapha, given the vast array of career options available today, settling on the right one can be challenging.

1. The crucial first step in this journey is to identify what truly brings you joy. Reflect on your hobbies, what you're passionate about, and the lifestyle you envision for yourself in the future. These are significant considerations, so take your time to ponder and respond to them in a manner that resonates with you.

2. Embark on some exploration of careers that could potentially align with your passions and aspirations. At this stage, you might be able to whittle down your choices to a handful of different career paths.

3. Evaluate which career path is both achievable and intriguing for you to pursue.
