Many colleges and universities also offer courses in art.
But, I have actually discovered that I learned the most from documentaries about art and artists and art design on youtube and on local public television stations.

I suggest spending time visiting local art museums, many of which have free admission for students. If you can't get to museums, browsing their websites can show you their different collections. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has great learning resources on their website (https://www.metmuseum.org/learn/learning-resources) in addition to access to their collections spanning antiquities to contemporary art.

Hi Nica, I would advise that you start spending more time on practice sessions. Try to focus on what kind of art you’re into ( manga, comics, portraits, fantasy, etc.) you will also need to research, and invest in the proper techniques, tools, and media that will allow you to create what you like. Also consider instructional videos and apps. that relate to what your interests are. Good luck and remember to practice, practice, practice! Perfect practice makes perfect.

Use apps. & whatever is easiest to get into
Focus on what you like…step out of the box, and try to find subject matter that will make you well rounded.

What do you create just for yourself? Keep up creating, trying different media and think about taking some classes. I took a class at the Corcoran (now defunct) and it got me my first commision. Read Ben Shahns book The Shape of Content, it really spoke to me, i was in HS then. Went to college of art at a large univ after HS. Realized i just didnt have the passion or talent. Went to furniture design school...found my plce..design plus hands on construction. Later had my own shop for 20 yrs. So there are many paths...dont be afraid...good luck!
