What are career options that allow me to put my hobbies into my job?
I am a sophomore in high school and my hobbies include, minecraft, calligraphy, crafts, choir, theatre, and other video games. I have no idea what I want to do and don't know where to start but I don't want to end up with boring numbers and logistics jobs, though I can do those things I don't usually enjoy them.

Hello Julia!
Career Options That Allow You to Put Your Hobbies into Your Job
When considering career options that align with your hobbies, it’s essential to explore fields that not only allow you to engage in activities you enjoy but also provide a fulfilling and creative work environment. Below are several career paths that can incorporate your interests in Minecraft, calligraphy, crafts, choir, theatre, and video games.
1. Game Design and Development Given your interest in Minecraft and video games, pursuing a career in game design or development could be an excellent fit. This field involves creating the concepts, characters, environments, and gameplay mechanics of video games. You can start by learning programming languages such as C# or C++, or by using game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine. Additionally, roles such as level designer or narrative designer would allow you to create engaging experiences similar to those found in Minecraft.
2. Graphic Design and Illustration Your passion for calligraphy and crafts can translate well into a career in graphic design or illustration. These professions involve creating visual content for various media including advertisements, websites, and products. Skills in digital art software like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop will be beneficial here. Calligraphy can also find its niche in branding projects where unique typography is needed.
3. Arts Education If you enjoy sharing your knowledge with others, consider becoming an arts educator focusing on theatre or crafts. Teaching drama classes or workshops on crafting techniques allows you to inspire creativity while engaging with students who share similar interests.
4. Theatre Production With your involvement in theatre, careers such as stage management, set design, costume design, or acting could be appealing options. Each of these roles allows you to immerse yourself in the performing arts while collaborating with other creative individuals.
5. Craft Entrepreneurship If you have a knack for crafting and creating handmade items, starting your own business could be a viable option. This could involve selling your crafts online through platforms like Etsy or at local craft fairs. You might also consider offering workshops where you teach others how to create their own crafts.
6. Music Production and Performance Since choir is one of your hobbies, exploring careers in music production or performance could be rewarding. This may include becoming a musician, sound engineer, music teacher, or even working behind the scenes in concert production.
7. Content Creation In today’s digital age, content creation has become a significant career path that encompasses various forms of media including blogging about gaming (like Minecraft), crafting tutorials on platforms like YouTube or TikTok, and even podcasting about theatre experiences.
8. Animation and Multimedia Arts Combining elements from gaming and storytelling through animation can lead to exciting opportunities in film production studios or gaming companies where storytelling is key.
