Retired Electronics Technician Chief Petty Officer, US Navy. Earned an Associate Degree in Computer Technology and Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences while in the military. I wanted to change career fields so I obtained a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy certification and now work as a mobile phlebotomist. Current Postbac Premed student at Columbia University.

I am originally from a small town in Texas and the first person in my family to ever go to college. My father never graduated high school and we were considered low income for most of my childhood. My grades were not the best in High School and I had to work to help my family get by. I know what it's like to be treated like a statistic at times. I view this as an opportunity to guide others throughout their journey. With hard work, motivation, and some personal accountability anything is possible.
