Hi Jase,

 

It depends a bit on the work sector you are in.

Usually you have a 40 hour week and work 5 days a week (Mo-Fr) during regular office hours.

Depending on the schedule of the construction sites it can happen that tasks must be done during night shift times or on weekends (especially if you have an improvement or adaption project during running building operation).

If you work internationally for multi national companies it can happen that you have to fly out to your project sites on Sundays and return on Saturdays.

Depending on the size of your projects and on how many you are working on at the same time it can happen that you must work more than 40 hours per week.

Although depending on your level of seniority you can mostly pace yourself.

90% of the jobs I have worked in 20 years have had a 7am-3:30pm M-F schedule. There are always going to be exceptions to the rule but that is the industry standard.

Hi Jase

There are many different fields within the construction industry. But mostly its 8 hour shifts during the day and usually Monday through Friday.

A lot of construction projects gat done on weekends also so sometimes it is a 6 day work week

It depends on which industry you are working in.

Commercial construction in areas I've been in work 7am-3pm, that is ready to work at the tool box at 7 and not getting out of the car. So shift is 5/8s(5 days a week, 8 hour days)

Industrial construction where I am working is normally 4/10s, but outages you work 7/12s. All starting at 7am. Some plants work different schedules, it's all dependent on the customer.
