What are some good alternate careers for me ?

I have a strong passion for healthcare and a deep desire to help people, which is why I’ve always dreamed of becoming a doctor.

However, I’m aware of the challenges involved, such as getting into med school and matching into a residency program, and I'm trying to prepare myself for the possibility that things may not go as planned.

I’m also interested in both surgery and psychiatry, but I'm looking for some advice on a backup career in healthcare that would still allow me to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

Becoming a physician's assistant is a fantastic choice if you're considering a career in healthcare. The work hours are more flexible, and you can start your career about four years sooner than if you were to become a doctor.

Would definitely recommend physical therapy! Many of the students in my cohort had originally thought they wanted to go to med school but ended up switching to PT and loved it. There is less schooling, more flexible hours, it is easier to change specialties, and you really get to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives every day. Definitely something worth considering!!
