what am I doing right now to become the person I want to be in the future and what legacy do I want to leave behind?

I have written this question for myself for the CareerVillage Spring Scholarship. It's a question that I often dwell upon at night.

One thing that may help with this is taking time to figure out what kind of impact you would want to have on the world and how that aligns with your current values. It’s worth thinking through what matters to you? What problems do you see in the world that you want to solve? There are a lot of ways that you can have a big impact on the world even in a small way or on a local scale. The kind of person you want to be may change overtime, and that’s OK, we are all growing and learning so don’t feel like you have to have all the answers.

What a fantastic question, and good for you to ask yourself at this point in your life. I would imagine, based just on that question, you are a thoughtful person which is a great step to success. If you think about all of your other wonderful qualities, such as kindness, patience, flexibility, compassion, living your faith, etc., you will have a list of what you're now doing to be successful later in life. Continue to broaden those qualities and add others that you believe are important.

Your legacy will be the whole of who you are. Throughout your life you will influence others through your words and actions. You may not know the difference you have made but you can be confident you contributed to the world by being you.

With every good wish and many blessings,
Karen
