How can I encourage myself to put myself out there?
I will be majoring in Songwriting at Belmont University next year and am worried I won't be able to find my friends in a new place! What is the best way to meet new people? I am definitally an introvert and have a hard time encouraging myself to put myself out there!

Hi Maggie, Congrats on starting your music journey at Belmont University! As an introvert, you don't need to push yourself to be super social. You can meet friends who share your interests in a comfy way. Try joining the school's songwriting club. You'll find classmates who love music just like you. Talking about creating music will help you feel more at ease. Before school starts, connect with a few classmates in your major through the freshman group, so you'll see some familiar faces on your first day! Challenge yourself a little each day, like saying hi to someone new. With music as a bridge, you'll find friends who get you!

I totally understand what you're going through!
Changes like the one you're about to go thru can make anyone feel nervous, especially if you're introverted. But remember, it's normal to feel this way.
What helps me is focusing on the goal. Since you're getting into songwriting, meeting people in that field is perfect. It can boost your career and help you build great connections.
Look for events related to your field. It might seem tough to start, but imagine how great it will feel to meet new people who could become your close friends. You've got this!
