A year is not a long pause - some stay out for much longer. Nobody will likely know, or care unless you tell them and they will still likely not care. I'd suggest you not worry about it.

Hi Cole. This is an easy question to answer. Don't sweat the small stuff. Look at this year as no different than working. There is ALWAYS something to learn! I would bet that within 2-3 days into your resumed studies, you will be doing just fine. You are still young, but restarting your education is just like riding a bike. You don't forget and once you get back on, you are going just like you never quit! Congratulations on taking up your education again and good luck.

Hi Cole,
I agree with Harry—just dive in and get started! I took a part-time job for a year between my engineering degree and MBA, and it was totally manageable. Honestly, going to grad school is an exciting adventure that will make you a highly skilled person by the time you graduate. Enjoy the journey!

I took a nine year break before getting my MBA and I wish I had asked this question! Your MBA program is going to be awesome but also intense. Make sure you relentlessly prioritize the endless list of things on your plate (class, homework, group meetings, clubs, social events, finding an internship, etc., etc.) I found the transition to be harder than expected mostly because I didn't establish that important habit when I went back to school. Good luck!
