Hey Dylan,

Imposter syndrome is one. You go from a young person with little to no experience to now being trusted to make decisions that can impact yourself, your company, and other companies and customers. It's a lot coming at you when it comes to learning the ins and outs of navigating the social dynamics of a full time job. You feel unsure in your abilities and if you are the right person. And in due time you find yourself making things work, and doing better learning the ropes until you are fairly comfortable with things.

I tell people all the time school teaches you how to learn. but when you begin working at a company they're going to show you the industry. There's so much more going on within a company and an industry than a course can teach. it's overwhelming at first.... and in tech which it looks like you're interested in it can be a continual sense of overwhelm because things change so fast. adapting to the pace takes time.

Alex’s Answer

Don't worry about making mistakes. It's okay not to know everything. Just make sure you really understand your task. If you're not sure, don't hesitate to ask again. I was fortunate to have a mentor at my first job who gave me great advice: never assume. Also, don't hurry through tasks. Take your time to think them through. If something needs to be recorded, write it down. This way, you can avoid confusion later on.
