How can I meet entrepreneurs in my industry?
I'd like to find unique insights rather than traditional internships. #Spring25

Hi there.
I would suggest starting with a site for professionals like LinkedIn. You can search your industry and you will not only find businesses in the industry but also the people behind the screens making these businesses work. There are some of these professionals who will be willing to give you advice and guidance on any questions you might have, so you can get first hand knowledge and experience in what you can do to make sure you are doing everything right when starting your first job.
Hope that helps.

HI Jonathan: Burlington, VT is a great place to engage and meet other entrepreneurs. IN addition to LInkedIn, I would look up local businesses in the area that are in an industry you are interested in and just go talk to them. You also have UVM and Champlain College locally which likely have resources for entrepreneurs. I spent 4 years at UVM ( a long time ago) -- a wonderful and creative community. Check out also local fairs and talk to other entrepreneurs to see what they have been doing with their businesses. Starting a business is complex so don't be afraid to learn from others. I actually see if you can find a list of local small businesses and offer to do an internship. Small businesses started - most likely- as an idea and probably have great experience to share. I expect you have seen a publication called VT: https://web.vermont.org/Media/Vermont-Business-Magazine-(VBM). It might be more focused on existing larger businesses but, again, getting all the insight you can get will only help you gain perspective of opportunities and challenges of being an entrepreneur. After all Ben and Jerry's started in a Gas station in Burlington scooping to locals and UVM students ( I was one! ) and look where they are today. Good luck.
